It's Matt, yes? Unlike the Captain, you do not receive such warning until the time of your punishment has arrived. If you do injury to another that requires medical assistance or take a life, you will be punished in a manner typically fitting the deed done. All punishments are of a medieval variety and are... unpleasant.
Any amount of great damage done to the Keep itself can also lead to punishment, although the amount of damage that constitutes such is questionable.
