So I guess once wasn't enough was it?

[Sigh.]

My other one is missing, so is this journal thing our new communicators?

Zee can you see this? Can you find Jael and stay with her until I find you guys?

[There's a break in the text.]

Hello? Anybody out there? I'll take anyone at this point. Even you, Jinx.

[Ow. Okay that one hurt. But Jael perks up as she hears Matt's voice. Looking around until she sees him, Jael picks herself up and runs towards him.

And once she's close enough, she tackles him.]

[He's ready to catch her. Just not ready to slip on the ice when he does. He loses his footing and flops back into a snow drift.]

Ow...

[He smiles up at her.]

You must be happy to see me.

[Jael grins down at Matt and mouths 'sorry' before leaning down to kiss him.

It's been months since she's seen him and this is the happiest she's been since she got here. So excuse her as she makes sure he's real and not just a dream.]

[Well! Matt is 100% okay with this welcome. He leans up to return her kiss. Not a dream. He's really here.

He lifts a hand and touches her cheek.]

I missed you too.

[Jael is so happy to see Matt she's about ready to start crying. But she ignores that in favor of focusing on the fact that she accidentally tackled him into a snowdrift. She rolls off him and stands, picking up her scattered belongings as she does.

Jael smiles sheepishly at Matt.]

[It's okay. Matt is anything but mad. He could've lost her. And he's so glad he hasn't. Once she gets up, Matt does too, stooping down to gather Jael's stuff. He holds a hand out to her.]

Here, I'll carry it for you.

[Is that some missing skin and some circuits? I think so.]

[Jael is preparing to protest when she notices the missing skin and the circuitry.

Fffff Matt. She drops her stuff again so she can grab Matt's hand, careful not to touch any place without skin.

The alarmed look on her face says it all. What the hell happened?]

[Oh, that. He's almost tempted to just take his hand back. But this is Jael. He sighs.]

I just haven't had a chance to fix it yet. It's fine.

[Jael sighs and let's go, bending down to grab her stuff so she can write something.]

Let's get inside. Do you have what you need to fix it?

Yeah.

[He's going to run out soon and no bazaar or deck 12 to get more either.]

Come on. [He'll just offer Jael his uninjured hand.]

[Jael nods and takes his hand, then uses it to tug him towards the barracks. She keeps her head down to watch out for ice, already feeling the bruises that are coming up from her sliding around earlier.

Since she doesn't know where his room is, she leads him towards her room on the first floor.]

Wait, I don't think my room's this way.

[Pause.]

Unless you want to wait here while I go get my stuff.

[Because like hell if he's leaving her alone. He's either moving in with her or she's moving in with him.]

[Jael thinks for a moment before letting go of his hand to write.]

I'll wait for you in my room, 1098.

All right, I'll be right back.

[He kisses her hand before he leaves. He returns a few minutes later, record tucked under his arm, along with the rest of his things.

Knock, knock. He should probably get a key.]

[Matt, that was too cute. Jael smiles broadly at the kiss as she heads back to her room, making sure it's relatively neat.

Jael opens the door almost as soon as Matt knocks, still smiling widely.]

[Her smile makes him smile! This is great. They're together and that's all Matt really needs to be happy. He steps inside and dumps his junk somewhere while he sits on the bed to cover his circuitry with his synthetic skin.]

They're probably not going to have more of this. Have to make it last.

[So...no punching things.....Unless absolutely necessary.]

[Jael nods and sits beside him, pulling her legs up to her chest as she watches him. She's...never seen him do this before and it's fascinating.]

[It's done in just a few minutes. He flexes is fingers and wrists, just to make sure there are no mistakes.]

See? Good as new. Now come here.

[He's putting his arms around her to pull her close to him.]

Jael...

[He pauses, as if he's considering what he wants to say.]

On my way back, I was thinking about that note in the journals. If it's true, if we're really going home, then I want to go back with you.

[There was nothing left for him in his home world. Everything he wanted was right here beside him.]

[Jael eagerly accepts and leans heavily against Matt. However, she sits up a bit at his words, staring at him with wide eyes for a moment before she smiles widely. Grabbing some paper, she quickly scrawls something down.]

I would be so happy if you did. I don't think I'd be able to stand going home without you.

[He didn't care what world they went back to. As long as he was with her. After reading her words, he smiles at her and presses a brief kiss to her temple.]

So. This place got anything good to eat?

[Jael is never going to be able to stop smiling at this rate, Matt. She nods.]

I'm sure we can find you something to eat.

[Awesome. Matt likes it when she smiles.]

Well, if you're not busy, wanna grab some food?

[He's starving. :(]

[Jael smiles and nods again, sliding off the bed and grabbing her papers before holding a hand out to Matt.]

[And he's up in a flash, taking Jael's hand eagerly. Lead the way Boss Lady. ♥]

[Jael squeezes Matt's hand, overjoyed at being able to do such a simple thing for the first time in months. She leads him to the kitchens, silently hoping that Joe isn't there so Matt doesn't get bad news on his first day there.]
